German Biewer Yorkies
                                                  _
The Biewer (pronounced ba-ver), also known as the Biedwer a la Pom Pon, Biewer Yorkshir Terrier.  The Biewer originated in Hunsruck, Germany in 1984 when Werner & Gertrude Biewer's award winning Yorkie Darling von Friedheck and Fru Fru von Friedheck gave birth to a baby with large asymmetrical black and white patches.  The Biewers continued breeding their Yorkies to achieve four white legs, chest, belly and tip of the tail which is now the Biewer standard.  Biewers were first imported to America in 2003.

The Biewer is a terrier, but it's standard for colours are different than our standards.  This is why they are called Biewer Yorkshire Terrier a la Pom Pon.  They have a breed name of their own.

Biewers have their very own standards and those standards must be correct in order for these dogs to be registered in Germany.  Like a Yorkie, they do not shed.  They have the closest to human hair. The Biewer Yorkie is lively, bold, and intelligent.  Biewers are amazing dogs.  They are very similar to the temperament of the Yorkshire Terrier.  They have a childlike, playful personality.  Biewer Yorkies like the traditional Yorkie prefer life inside as part of the family.

All of our adults are registered with the Internationalen Biewer Terrier Club e.V. of Germany (IBC).  The correspondence comes directly from Germany and each puppy registered IBC has its own German Certificate & Pedigree.

The true Biewer can not be registered in the USA or Canada at this time as the breed is relatively new to this part of the world.  Some people are starting to introduce the breed in the show circuit as a specialty breed and over time, registration may be allowed in America.

Only Biewers that originate in Germany are true Biewers.  Many people mix Yorkies and Maltese together, but they are Morkies, as they call them and NOT BIEWERS.  They are also NOT a Parti Color Yorkie as those that are mostly found in the US.
